When you're feeling a bit down or simply bored at home or work, sometimes you just want a little pick-me-up. Thankfully we have the Internet, a place where laughter is never more than a click away. Here's just a sample of the funniest websites on the Internet bound to make you, laugh or even cry.

Created by one man only, an American called Matthew Inman, The Oatmeal is a witty comic-based website that combines hilarious attention to detail with brilliant graphic artwork. As with all good comedy, Inman draws attention to the smaller things in life, but as we know, it's this detail that usually encourages the biggest laugh.

An Internet phenomenon, YouTube provides links to millions of funny videos, from satirical impersonations to comedy blunders all provided by members the public from around the world.
