Facts About Cremation Or Funeral

By Alan Redman

A cremation or funeral rite is a decision that people think about everyday. In todays world burning is accepted as a form of burial. This is because of problems that have come with a bulging world population. A funeral is essentially burying the body of a deceased person six feet underground. It is accepted widely all over the world and many societies embraces it. Burials have been carried out everyday since man recognized the need for a decent send off for their loved ones.

Many people prefer burials to crematoriums. This is because the second option has not gained wide acceptance all over the world. It was seen as an elitist way of a send off, others see it as a downright nasty way to send off a loved one.

In some places the buried are buried with their belongings. Other places the deceased is buried with nothing not even clothing. There are places where the dead is sent off with weapons to fight off the demons in the after life.

This is where a crematorium comes into the picture. It is a cheaper alternative to the other traditional method of send off. One will most likely have to pay about six thousand dollars when one wants a decent burial ceremony. This cost may be cut by up to three quarters when one is using a crematorium.

On the other hand countries in Europe and Africa have not embraced crematoriums. In Africa it is seen as taboo to burn a body to ashes. They see it as an insult to the higher powers and believe that the body will arrive in paradise burnt and undesirable.

If burning is not carried out these people believe that the body will not be transferred to the next world. Though many civilizations and traditional people prohibit it or have reservations about it, they are slowly accepting the practice. Burning of a deceased persons body is becoming more and more popular in todays world.

The burning of ones body does not dispose the whole body. There are some ashes that remain which the bereaved keep as a token or reminder of their loved one. The ashes are kept in special containers called urns.

There have been problems in recent times that have made people not so keen on burials. Top of the list is the space for a good funeral ground is quite expensive and difficult to get. This has made people think more about cremation or funeral.
