Tattooing Your Back

Having tattoos done on the back has become very popular. Women often choose to have one done on their lower backs. This has got nothing to do with self-expression. Instead this area is chosen for its sex appeal.

It is not a bad choice to have a tattoo done and in fact both men and women choose it. The lower neck region is also a popular choice. Some really brave souls even have tattoos done that cover the entire back and can be attractive murals and floral designs. Alternatively skulls and blood are common and irrespective of the design it is the individual's choice.

It is worth noting that the wearer never really gets to even see the tattoo themselves. Of course they usually have it done for other people to see and appreciate, especially when on the beach. Others might choose to have it done on the back for personal reasons or because they want a large tattoo and therefore need a larger space to work with.
The back can be a wonderful canvas for ink artwork, whether large or small. So, what do you need to know when considering a back tattoo? Just like any other tattoo, anywhere on your body, you need to make sure that you'll be happy with it for a long time to come.

A tattoo on the back requires just as much after care as any other. Therefore the fact that you cannot see it does not mean you can disregard it. The health of your skin is on the line.

In order for the tattoo to look great for years to come it will need proper care after it is done, as all tattoos take time and care in order to heal properly. An "out of sight out of mind" mentality is definitely out of the question.

You also need to bear in mind that some people assert that tattoos done close to the spine are more painful to have done. No tattoo can be done without some level of pain although there are ones that are more painful. This is dependent upon where the tattoo is done.

For women considering getting a tattoo on their lower backs originality is a big consideration. You might the type of woman that wants something different than the majority. Your tattoo does not need to be semi-tribal, semi-ornate, or terribly intricate and swirling all over your back. Let your unique personality determine the tattoo you choose.

And remember that your body will change and your tattoo will change with it. There was a funny skit on Saturday Night Live that addresses the trend for young women to get lower back tattoos.

As we age and our bodies change the tattoo invariably ends up appearing disproportionate and some might say unattractive. This doesn't necessarily mean that you should refrain from getting one done but do not dismiss the inevitable changes your body will undergo physical
