When Karan Johar sets out to direct a film, you're bound to have one with extravagant performances, catchy songs and addictive dance-steps. Previously, the director had roped in several choreographers and music-directors to give his films an icing-on-the-cake. Till date, the producer-director has directed four films and produced several more. Karan Johar the son of the late founder of Dharma Productions, Yash Johar, has included Jatin-Lalit, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and more recently one of the most sought-after music-directors, Vishal-Shekhar.
For Student of the Year, Karan Johar roped in the much sought-after music-director duo Vishal and Shekhar, who've composed all the music of the film. The soundtrack that was launched on the 31st of August has lyrics written by Anvita Dutt Guptan. Karan Johar's Student of the year album also includes songs like "The Disco Song" that includes parts of the classic pop song "Disco Deewane" sung by the late Nazia Hassan.
The track is a party-perfect number with additional vocals by Benny Dayal and Sunidhi Chauhan. The Student of the Year soundtrack isn't all about punchy music and also includes a romantic song called "Ishq Wala Love", sung by Shekhar Ravjiani, Neeti Mohan and Salim Merchant. The song was the second promo and was released on the 6th of September, 2012. With 'Ratta Maar", "Kukkad", "Vele" and the track "Mashup of the Year" completing the film's soundtrack, Karan Johar's Student of the Year's music was well received and is expected to be a crowd puller when the film releases.
