Arrest is defined as the act to deprive a person of liberty by taking the person into custody under lawful authority. Conviction record is defined as information indicating that a person has been convicted, imprisoned or paroled by any law enforcement or military authority. The Oklahoma State law allows Expungement of records which is cited under Section 18 which means it seals a criminal or arrest record from the public.

Even thought the record is being Expunge from the public, the judge allows certain people to view the record. These are the people that were allowed to view the records: the attorney general, the police departments, district attorney or others that have request granted by the judge to have access to the criminal records. With expungement, a person that has a criminal record can deny to others about it. The 991(c) allows expungement of a plea of guilt or no contest after the successful completion of a deferred sentence. It may seal an entire record while the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation will reflect "plead not guilty, case dismissed" in the record.

The advantage of online search is that it can be done privately anywhere and anytime as long as you want. The Oklahoma Department of Correction has created an online site for the public to easily access using such advancements. Just visit the website of the mentioned office and provide the full name or corresponding number of the arrested person you want to look up and click Search.
