A Unique Christmas Celebration Together With The Cancer Afflicted Children

By Alaric Sowerby

Within the years that I've lived, there's one particular experience that has made a lasting lesson in my existence. It was the time when I celebrated Christmas with the kids who got cancer.

Many men and women should come to an agreement with me that the Holidays is better liked by children. I remember a verse in the Scriptures that says, "Then Jesus called for the children and said to the disciples, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them. For the kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children." I think that Jesus might truly want us to enjoy, especially the kids, during His birthday celebration.
However, not all the kids are really happy during Christmas time. There happen to be those who are caught up in some war. There are likewise those who do not have their own friends and family with them and there are those who are sick. Amongst the various kinds of ailments in the world, cancer is definitely one of the worst diseases for a child to endure. It hinders kids to play, to go to school, to enjoy a normal life and at times it prevents kids to live a life.

The moment I had the chance to spend Christmas together with these children who have cancer, it transformed my view about life in general. Many of us may believe that a very sick or dying kid won't ever love Christmas. However, this wasn't the picture I found among these children. They actually delight in Christmas like they weren't ill. It was like as though, Christmas time by itself was really a present to enjoy much more than pricey toys, personalised Christmas cards or great tasting food. It has made me think that perhaps this was exactly why Jesus loved children. It was because kids can see more than suffering. It was because kids could survive regardless of how complex everything is. This was because children do not put off celebrating Jesus' birthday n

Individuals get upset at numerous things. We feel down when our expenditures are more than our income or when our boss does not choose the business Christmas cards design that we created or if the traffic is so heavy. These are only small things when compared to what a kid afflicted with cancer has to endure everyday.

Spending Christmas together with all these children has not only taught me the very best Christmas present that has been gifted to us but at the same time how we ought to live our lives. Our day-to-day lives could be filled with difficulties yet we have to stay strong and live our lives the way it ought to be lived.
