Dallas Top Theaters

Broadway, Texas? You could call it that. Many of the theaters in Dallas rival the best Broadway show in NY when talking about talent, opulence and showmanship. From Les Miserables to West Side Story, should you be looking for a star in Texas, you will find it at one of the spectacular theaters Dallas has to give.

Music Hall at Fair Park

Electrifying audiences for more than 85 years with spectacular classics, for example "Aida", "Phantom of the Opera", and "Miss Saigon", the Music Hall at Fair Park boasts opulent Western european architecture including 6 soaring step columns and seating for over 3,200 folks. The fine quality acoustics are often praised by musicians who play there. The Music Hall at Fair park offers dining at the Crystal Terrace Restaurant and earphones for the hearing-impaired.

Winspear Opera House

Part of the 10-acre AT&T Performing Arts Center in downtown Dallas, the new Winspear Opera House seats 2,200 among a wonder of modern architecture. Its glass cover creates a microclimate around the monumental location while its 318-rod chandelier twinkles over the sounds of The Dallas Opera and illuminates the complicated steps of the Texas Ballet Theater. Current performances include "Otello" and "Les Miserables".

McFarlin Auditorium

Located on the grounds of the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, the McFarlin Memorial Auditorium holds the honor of being on the National Historic Register and hosts dignitaries and important rites as well as world dance companies and world-renown entertainers, including the Houston Ballet, the St. Louis Symphony and the band Tool. One of the most lovely concert halls in Dallas, the McFarlin seats more than 2,300 in the orchestra, first and second balcony.

Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre

Finished in 2009, this vertical theater in Dallas located in the AT&T Performing Arts Center features a 12-story construction, hiding the supporting structures from view and opening up the performance space. Additionally, this tall, box-like structure permits performers to open the blinds to reveal the town of Dallas behind the performers. The Wyly Theater also includes Pay-What-You-Can tickets, permitting penny-pinching theatergoers to name their own ticket price in the week before a performance.

While visiting the city, be sure to stop by in one or two of these amazing theaters in Dallas, Texas, and have some fun with family, friends or by yourself.
