You want to make sure that the best art campuses notice you but how can this be done? They are going to ask you to put together a folder of some of your best work and there are certain aspects that are probably going to be more visible than others. Which of your creations should be included, you may wonder? I believe that it isn't so much an idea of incorporating one type of work but making sure that many different bases are covered instead.
The best art campuses can tell you that not only should your folder possess your own work but that the work in question should be neat. Presentation is everything and your creations should be filed in such a way that your folder does not come across as messy. You can make the argument that there are some schools that will allow sketches, which you would not be totally wrong about. Generally, though, you want to make sure that everything that is brought into a work folder is finished.
What about the actual pieces of work themselves, whether they are finished or not? If you want to create an even greater portfolio, you should be able to bring a number of art styles into the picture but what do these entail, you may wonder? Landscapes may look nice but a portfolio has a lesser chance of standing out if it includes nothing but landscapes. Mix it up a bit with self-portraits or cartoons if you want to be able to create a more unique catalog of work for enrollment purposes.
With certain styles brought into effect, I think that there is attention that should be brought to the mediums which can be utilized as well. An artist may be most comfortable painting but, like with art styles, having just one platform may not look great on you. Think about working more with watercolor paint, for instance, if you want to expand your horizons. In fact, I have to believe that this will be able to expand your portfolio as well, so do not disregard this idea.
As you can imagine, your portfolio is going to mean a lot, so make sure you have it put together nice
