Make a nursery with recycled tires

Anyone who wants to save on fruit and vegetables should do like maybe their parents did and grow their own. An easy thing to do and not an expensive one either. The enjoyment of having fresh produce from your own garden is great. A herb garden is something you can try as well. The taste of your own produce is far better than that available in store. Added to this is the glow of producing your own food. In addition it is you who is in charge of what is added. You can be happy knowing the fresh produce is additive free.
Many people who would like to garden, just don't have the room for long rows of carrots or large spaces to grow squash or melons. A different approach is what is needed. Try planting your garden in some smaller spaces. This works because you can plant, harvest, and plant again during the season and still have enough for your personal needs. One good idea is to plant your garden in old tires.

You can find many places where you can get these for free. In some cases, they might cost 5 bucks with tire discounts. You only need four or five, depending on the amount of planting you intend to do. But large installations may require over ten tires.

You might think that these old tires don't look that good. Maybe the neighbors will object? There are ways of dressing them up by covering them with something that looks much better. Setting the tires in some wooden boxes would make them look better. Try making them look better by cutting the tires to look like flowers and then paint them. Try, as a stand, the rim of the tire.

it is best to pick a place and cultivate the soil by digging down to a depth of 4 inches. For healthy plants you will need the roots to grow as deeply as is possible.

Good soil is essential for planting. A local store, Home Depot or a Lowes will stock this. Follow the instructions on planting the seed and fertilize well. Don't over water, but do water regularly. The little garden will keep you supplied with all you need. Growing your own produce instead of buying it will save you money.
