Posivity or Negativity - It's Your Choice!

By Dr. Steven Yen

Now that we've all had time to digest what happened in Halo, Corp a few weeks back, let's chat about the topic for a second and then let's never bring it up in our community again.

I'm not saying this to be insensitive because what happened was a horrid crisis but I only say this because what we read/see on the news or online affects us in a Enormous way. You may not realize the impact yet but think about it for a minute.
When you're continually reading about tragedies on Facebook or on the news each night, you are letting in negative emotions. You're connecting with these stories in a way that you might not realize... You are feeling sad for the families who lost friends, you are annoyed at the criminal and your mind starts to worry and think, "What if this occurred to me?" It is not healthy.

Getting wrapped up in the main points of negative and worrying events only reminds us that there are negative things in the world. Yes, there's a lot of hate and negativity in the world but you've got the choice to view it briefly and move on to a happier subject.

Ultimately , you're in control of your life and what you opt to concentrate on.

Do yourself a favor: offer up a prayer for the subjects of the Colorado shooting and their families. Then, never read, watch or listen to anything about it again. You'll be healthier and happier if you do.
