There was a great demand for his books ad evidenced by the number one spot of Worlds in Collision in the best selling list. He attempted to negate the criticisms through his book Earth In Upheaval where he presented data to support his beliefs.

His beliefs included the theory that historians had made mistakes in the chronology of historic events and he reconstructed a time line that explained many inconsistencies in history. He was a believer that the mentioned disasters in Bible really did occur and that these kinds of disasters were caused in part by planetary positioning. He theorized that the planet Venus originated as a comet from Jupiter.
