I highly recommend this pillow. I've been shopping for a new pillow for a long time and refuse to pay a ridiculous price for those foam pillows.
I tried this pillow for a little over a week, but found little success. They recommend you change the water every six months or so, depending on what type of water you put in.
You can always take some out if it's too uncomfortable.
About two weeks ago it was finally broke in. I gave it a try for a few more days. My headaches and neck aches are nearly gone!
My initial thoughts on this pillow were a bit mixed -- it was comfortable, but not quite "there".
But I should note that I was sleeping on a fairly soft down pillow before and perhaps changing to just a foam (or firmer) pillow might have helped as well. Filled, it is just too heavy for a side sleeper who ends up with their arm under the pillow.
The gentle support helps relieve stress, and the cushion effect is like that of a water bed. So I did a little fine tuning and it made all the difference. I have been a water bed fan in the past, though recently a bought of sciatica turned me towards a latex mattress, which very supportive and comfortable though it took a little while to get used to after a squishy water bed.
It would also only cut off circulation when I put my arm under the middle of the pillow where the most pressure would be, it seems fine when I have it more towards the outskirts like the lady in the current stock photo is doing.
I purchased a Mediflow pillow and used it nightly for about 4 years and it just recently sprung a leak. This pillow has kept my neck in a suitable position, eliminating about 70-90% of my problems. The pillow is heavy and bulky, it can not be flipped over to the other side and can not be molded around the head.
I had no problems filling and getting extra air out. Sweet dreams! I had tried so many different pillows but no relief. I just hope I can stay awake til it gets here.
It's a keeper. I don't know why but it does the job. It's not uncomfortable and my neck doesn't hurt but it's still not a "pleasure" to lay down on. I purchased another pillow with the cover.
