One of my friends purchased me a set of kettlebells for Christmas last year. Kind of an odd thing to try and envelop but there it is. They also got me some instructional kettlebell exercises and workout videos. These things will hopefully get me into the best shape that I've ever been in. Who knows, maybe next year I will pay it forward and buy them for someone else.
Why are kettlebells such a good appliance for exercising? First of all, these weights help you utilize muscles that you typically wouldn't. The deep muscle work that you can get from using kettlebells cannot be earned by most other conventional forms of workouts. Yoga, Pilates, and aerobics all fade in relation to these forms of exercises and the deep muscle/tendon work.
Kettlebell exercises are varied from others in that the afterburn effect can be felt. Long after you cease training, your body still manages to shed fat, along with calories. What's even more pleasing is the fact that it can last for up to two days, showing just how stimulating this way of training can truly be. Due to this afterburn time, the time spent exercising can be felt further. Fitness authorities along the lines of Lorna work with these methods and not simply for physical reasons, either.
These weights, in addition to their physical benefits, are incredibly convenient to have around. For instance, I have a set at home so that I can easily work out during the weekends or when I come home from work. There's a shorter workout time to be had with these weights, so I suppose it was a great idea to keep yet another set in my office. It's clear that this form of exercise can be done just about anywhere, so having the weights at the ready is not a problem.
My friends, who knew my desire to get healthier but also realizing how busy I am made the best decision in getting me a full kettlebell training package. The videos, coupled with the weights themselves, have assisted to propel me on my way to the best shape of my life. I even took those before pictures to have evidence of what I looked like. I can't wait because in two months of assiduously working out, I'm hoping the after pictures will be amazing.
