Wish Away Stress

By Ryan Pierce

Our lives are so full that people have no time for such things as laughing. We are stressed out by the rigors of trying to earn a living that has become a routine way of life. So how should we deal with such stress in our lives? The answer is simple and it is provided by nature, as are the solutions to many of our problems. Nature has provided us with a means of relieving stress.

When we laugh, our bodies relax. Biologists have provided proof that this happens and they have the reason why it happens that way. Having studied the report of this research, I was convinced that I should become an ambassador of having fun in life. I started researching on the best ways to make people to have fun and in the process, have fun myself. Today, I will give you a glimpse of my discoveries.

Consequently, I have devised some strategies that can help you harness the power of laughter. Everyone's invited including novices and guys who are experts at being funny. Some of the strategies are well-known while others are pure genius on my part. Just kidding! These are mostly the result of careful observation of folks who have succeeded in being funny.

First, you must muster all the confidence you have that you can do it. Whether it is on a stage in front of hundreds of people or before one person, belief in your ability can go a long way into ensuring success. Shyness does not exist in this business. If you have a great joke but you cannot say it, what's the use of having it? It's like lighting a lamp only to cover it so that you can't see in the dark. Tell your jokes even as you laugh, if possible, and your audience will laugh along with you. It's ok to be fearful at first but make sure your fear doesn't drag you down.

Then, be an observant guy. Many ideas that are used in movies, TV shows etc are found from what we see every day. Even the latest Sci-Fi movies do not come out of the blues. There must be something that triggers the idea. With comedy, you have plenty to give you ideas. One thing is that some people are unconsciously comical. Perhaps it's their mode of dressing, talking or walking. Any of this can form the basis of your jokes. You can be sure that at least one person in your audience relates to what you are ridiculing or describing.
