Making Money Using Internet Stock Photography Sites

Snap your shots as quickly as possible! If you hesitate, you may miss the moment you are trying to capture because of your subject moving. Photography is about capturing a moment, so be fast, and don't let the moment slip away.

Great lighting is essential if beautiful photography is your goal. A picture that has the potential to be beautiful could be ruined by lighting that is too dark, too bright or splotchy. It is good practice to keep the light behind you when taking a picture. Putting subjects in the shade is also a good idea. Your pictures will be beautiful because you have taken advantage of the optimum lighting conditions.

Avoid purchasing a camera that relies on lithium batteries, particularly if you plan to take it on a trip involving air travel. Many airports have expressed concerns about fire hazards from batteries that are packed in checked baggage. Many have even enacted total bans. However, the exception states that you may bring this type of battery on the plane as long as they are in your camera.

Look for the perfect balance of aperture, ISO and shutter speed. These are the three features that drive the exposure of the photographs you take. Avoid overexposed photos unless you purposely want them that way. Play around with the features to judge how they work together. Use the combination you like the best depending on the environment.

When shooting pictures in nature, do so with care. Take a moment to appreciate the scene, as well as to make sure that you are leaving no traces. You should be careful not to disturb the natural settings that you photograph in order to leave them for others to find.

Always be careful when packing your equipment for a trip. Bring as many lenses you think you'll need and never forget to have spare batteries and maintenance accessories. Don't take more with you than you absolutely need.

Buy a solid, but cheap tripod for good pictures. If you are taking low-speed or active pictures, any slight jiggle or jitter will be noticed. A tripod solves blurring problems by keeping the camera perfectly still. For the most professional shots, invest in a quality tripod.
